Host of Netflix show Patriot Act Hasan Minhaj recently took to social media to share a video from his most recent episode, titled, ‘Don’t Ignore The Asian Vote In 2020’ and it’s hilarious.
Hasan took to social media to share the video with the words, “Indian political discourse in 2019.”
The video begins with Hasan having a conversation with an Indian woman. He asks her, “Do you feel like we’ve arrived?” However, the woman’s response is immediately interrupted by a very... passionate man, screaming at Minhaj for being “anti-Indian”.
Hasan responds with a puzzled laugh, but the man continues to say, “I know you are from Sacramento. I am ashamed to say that you are from Sacramento. You should respect Modi. You should respect Modi, India and Hindus.”
But the real kicker is what happens next.
Suddenly, the video cuts to the same man posing and smiling with Hasan Minhaj. He says, “Even though we have a difference of opinion, he is a good guy,” and just like that, the passions have abated.
The latest episode of Patriot Act deals with the relevance of Asians living in the USA in the upcoming 2020 elections. Hasan talks about how despite being a growing community, it is one of the least politically active groups in the country. Not if this Indian uncle has anything to say about it, though!
