David Letterman’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with Shah Rukh Khan just dropped on Netflix on 25 October. In the one-hour standalone Netflix special, Shah Rukh Khan got candid about many things, including his son Aryan Khan’s future as an actor.
While talking to Letterman, Shah Rukh Khan addressed that being the child of a renowned actor, people expect Aryan to pursue the same career path. However, SRK doesn’t think Aryan has what it takes to be an actor.
“But he is a good writer,” added Shah Rukh Khan.
Aryan Khan is currently studying filmmaking in UCLA.
Talking about what it actually takes to be an actor, SRK spoke about how it’s important for the desire to come from within. He also revealed that Aryan himself is not too keen on becoming an actor.
Delving deeper into the conversation between him and Aryan Khan, SRK revealed that Aryan is worried his efforts would constantly be seen and judged in Shah Rukh Khan’s shadow. “His issue was, which I think is very very practical and honest, every time I will be compared to you. So if I do well it will not be because I got skilled at this but it will be like, obviously he is the son so he will do well. It's in the genes,” said SRK.
He further added, “And if I don't do well it will always be like 'my God look at him. what his father did and what is he doing . So he says I don't want to be in this position.”
Shah Rukh Khan’s interview with David Letterman is currently streaming on Netflix.
