The trailer for the second season of Amazon Prime Video’s original web series Inside Edge has been released. The show is set in the high-stakes world of professional cricket and is based on a fictional T20 cricket league called the Power-Play League.

A new character, played by Aamir Bashir, is introduced in the trailer. He is determined to make cricket a global enterprise and is not averse to using underhanded means to do so. The trailer suggests this season will be hit with doping scandals, rivalries, bidding wars and power games.

Watch the trailer here:

Angad Bedi returns as Arvind Vashishthh, the star player of the Mumbai Mavericks. Luke Kenny appears as an official determined to get to the bottom of Bashir’s tricks and bring him down for his unethical moves. The series also stars Gully Boy actor Siddhant Chaturvedi, Richa Chadha and Sayani Gupta. The trailer ends with a shot of Vivek Oberoi, who plays sports manager Vikrant Dhawan. The voiceover seems to suggest that he might trump Bashir as the main villain of Inside Edge 2.

Inside Edge premiered received an International Emmy nomination for Best Drama in 2018. While the first season was helmed by Karan Anshuman, Inside Edge 2 has been directed by Aakash Bhatia and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment. It is scheduled to stream on Amazon Prime from 6 December.
