1. Humour Has to Be Seen in Right Context: Twinkle on Akshay’s Remark
Twinkle Khanna, who has so far been silent in the Akshay Kumar and Mallika Dua controversy, has finally spoken her mind.
Akshay Kumar’s comment on The Great Indian Laughter Challenge did not sit well with his co-judge, Mallika Dua, or her father, Vinod Dua. Mallika wrote about how the comment, “Mallikaji, aap bell bajao, main aapko bajata hoon” made her uncomfortable. But, columnist and author, Twinkle Khanna felt like the comment needed to be taken in the “right context”. Here’s what she said:
It’s a colloquial phrase that both men and women use – for instance, “I am going to bajao him/her” or “I got bajaoed”, Red FM even has a tagline ‘Bajatey Rao’ all without sexist connotations. Mr Vinod Dua, Ms Dua’s father, had written a post – it’s been taken down now, stating, “I am going to screw this cretin Akshay Kumar.” Should Mr Dua’s statement also be taken literally or interpreted in context? Words, especially humour has to be seen in its right context. I have always stood up for freedom within comedy including defending AIB’s infamous roast on numerous occasions in the past and that is my stance even today. So kindly stop tagging me in this debate.

Sunny Leone has never been in a happier place. Bringing home an adopted baby girl Nisha has completely changed her life.
Everything has changed, and all for the better. Nisha is the best thing that has ever happened in my life. Every single time I see her, she puts a smile on my face and she is so loving and caring. Daniel and I are truly blessed.
3. Akshay’s ‘PadMan’ Clashes With Akshay’s ‘2.0’ on Republic Day
An epic box-office clash? (Photo courtesy: Twitter)
Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 400 crore and is touted as India’s most expensive film till date. And it stars two of Indian cinema’s biggest stars. The film releases on 25 January 2017 (Thursday). With Republic Day falling on a Friday, this seems like a great step for the film’s box-office performance. But Akshay Kumar’s other film, PadMan which is a biographical story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social entrepreneur and Padma Shree awardee also releases on the same day. The film is a true story of the man who revolutionised the production of low-cost sanitary napkins in rural India.
While the two films have completely different offerings, will the commercial 2.0 eat into PadMan’s box-office collections?
4. Dream Girl Hema Malini On Rajesh Khanna, Dimple and Sunny Deol

Hema Malini, in her book, Beyond The Dream Girl talks about her interaction with superstar, Rajesh Khanna. It seems the two did not get along very well and both thought the other was “too arrogant”.
I don’t know what the issue was but something was amiss with Rajesh Khanna. He would behave strangely with me in the initial days. No doubt he was the reigning superstar and women would adore him for his charm. But I didn’t give him any special bhaav as a co-actor. People around him would often tell him false stories about me. And the same set of people would come to me and tell me stories about him. Rajesh thought that I was arrogant while I thought that he was too full of himself.
In Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s memoir titled, An Ordinary Life, the actor opens up about his first girlfriend, Sunita Rajwar and how devastated he was when they broke up. But Sunita, in a long post in Hindi on Facebook, accuses Nawaz of fabricating lies about their fleeting romance. She did not deny their romance but said that the actor was deliberately playing it up in his favour.
Nawaz has written many things from his own imagination as well as changed facts to show himself in a positive light. With great skill, he has called himself a bad person and also placed the blamed on the women in life, especially me, because according to him, I was the reason he stopped believing in love and women and all his emotions died.
