Does celebrity twinning of clothes necessarily have to be made the butt of all jokes? Well, I’m quite the optimist and these outfits are far too fabulous to be limited to just one stunning celeb.

But, I did have fun comparing these beautiful ladies, to see who carried off the outfits with more elan. So, here are the heavyweights versus the ones who gave it a tough fight.

P.S. - Our first pair is the deadliest of them all.

Katrina Kaif vs Deepika Padukone

Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone have similar tastes, and we don’t mean just in fashion (Photos: www.bollyclips.com, a still from Verve’s photoshoot)

When Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone are spoken of in the same breath, it usually stirs up a controversy. But that’s not quite my focus here. These two gorgeous ladies were seen wearing the same Monisha Jaising glittery number, that literally doubled up their radiance. To be fair though, Padukone is stealing the show with her subtle sensuousness over Kaif, who settles for a sweet smile to go with her dress.

Jennifer Lopez vs Alia Bhatt

I have to admit that this Dior combination of white melting into peach is such a thing of beauty, and I think both Jennifer and Alia put their best foot forward in this one. But Jen’s confidence and stance wins this one frankly. Alia, maybe your famous pout could have done wonders for you, in this glam look.

Aishwarya Rai vs Kristin Chenoweth

It’s rare but in this case, I have a clear winner. I feel no hesitation in saying that Aishwarya totally takes the cake here. Her dark tresses, the red pout and her envy worthy curves make this golden red carpet look nothing short of blissful. Aish makes for a package that’s a perfect 10.

Katy Perry vs Sonam Kapoor

Fashionista Sonam Kapoor takes such a beating at the hands of Katy Perry in this red velvet look. Going as far as donning identical pumps with this spectacular Dolce & Gabbana number, Kapoor’s accessories are way too overwhelming. Au contraire, the simplicity with which Perry stays true to the ‘rules of red’, makes her a winner in my book.

Priyanka Chopra vs Carmen Ejogo

Simplicity doesn’t float the boat for Priyanka Chopra in this white marvel. Whoever said fashion was easy to apply? Priyanka Chopra’s plain Jane attitude towards this sexy, white number is quite the bummer. But Ejogo manages to add a smart twist of blue and that’s a real game changer. What a clever move!

Deepika Padukone vs Kate Hudson

Deepika Padukone just about makes it through in this look, and maybe her gift of height is something to thank here. On the other hand, the happy Hudson infects us with her stunning smile and style alike. Her belt nails the cinched-at-the-waist look and it makes for a sea change. We also love Hudson’s nude makeup over Padukone’s red lip colour.
