Sachin Tendulkar’s docu-drama Sachin: A Billion Dreams has collected Rs 27.85 crore in its first weekend at the box-office. Considering that the film is in the docu feature format, these collections are quite impressive.

The Sachin biopic saw a steady climb in its earnings as it began with earning Rs 8.40 crore on Friday, which increased to Rs. 9.20 crore on Saturday and finally rose to Rs 10.25 crore on Sunday.

The film was released in 5 languages in 2,800 screens worldwide of which 2,540 were in India. With Rs 8.4 crore on day one, Sachin: A Billion Dreams became the 8th highest opening day earner this year after films like Baahubali, Raees, Jolly LLB 2, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Half Girlfriend, Fast and Furious 8 and Kaabil.

The biopic is likely to see a dip in collections from Monday onwards, but will still be aiming for a lifetime box-office of Rs 40 crore plus.
