Exclusive: Sonam Lashes Out at the Sexist Sunny Leone Interview

Everybody is talking about it, tweeting about it and so when we met Sonam Kapoor, the controversial Sunny Leone interview inevitably came up. Sonam, who says she has refrained from tweeting about it, had this to say to The Quint.

<p>Actually last night my mom was showing it to me and she is like, Sonam have you seen this interview? She was showing it to me on Facebook and I was appalled. My mother never reacts but she was like what is wrong with this person? God knows what that girl had to go through and how can anybody judge anyone like that?</p>

Even if she has not gone through anything, it’s her choice. Can you believe it my mother said this. She was like look at the grace that Sunny Leone has shown. Come on, your mother will not say that for a former porn star right, but she was so impacted by it.

<p>I couldn’t sit through the interview. I couldn’t watch it. It was so condescending and patronizing. And I read that open letter and it makes him look more like an idiot than anything else. The true definition of misogyny is this human being.</p>

I will tell you something people are saying whatever they have to say on social media and it’s fine. Today in the morning when I was working out, I was going through everything and I was like I want to tweet to Sunny Leone but then I was like no, I’ll speak to her and tell her.

I swear to God like I couldn’t watch that interview. He is gross.
