It’s confirmed at last! Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja are all set to tie the knot on 8 May.

The Kapoor and Ahuja families have issued a joint statement confirming the date and putting all rumours to rest.

“The Kapoor and Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam and Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family’s need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives.”

2. Anushka Sharma Announces that she is Making a Animal Shelter

Anushka Sharma turns a year older and while she spends some quality time with hubby Virat Kohli, the actress also made a special announcement. The actor took to Twitter to speak about the protection of animals. Anushka plans to contribute to this goal by setting up an animal shelter outside Mumbai as a home for animals.

3. Sona Mohapatra Tweets to Mumbai Police After Threats Over New Song

Singer Sona Mohapatra is back in the spotlight, this time for bringing the threats she has been receiving from Madariya Sufi Foundation to the notice of Mumbai police. The Madariya Sufi Foundation has been allegedly threatening her and asking her to remove her latest single “Tori Surat” from her project, Lal Pari Mastani,which they claim might instigate communal tension.

Sona, in a series of tweets, drew Mumbai police’s attention to the threats and requested their intervention.

4. This is What Alia Bhatt is Up to on Labour Day

While all you guys are enjoying a mid-week off day on Labour Day, Alia Bhatt is spending her day off doing hard work. On 1 May, Alia Bhatt signed up to become a Jal Mitra for Aamir Khan’s Paani Foundation and did her share of shramdaan.

Alia visited a village called Latur in Maharashtra and worked on the ground to help the villagers with watershed management work. Even Aamir Khan joined in.
