If you thought Avengers: Infinity War would be the pinnacle of your superhero obsession, well, think again. There’s a new superhero in town and Venom is every bit as scary as he is efficient.
Venom stars Tom Hardy as journalist Eddie Brock, who gets infected by an alien symbiote that turns him into a deadly power to reckon with. He takes on an evil corporation spearheaded by actor Riz Ahmed, even as he tries to make sense of the entity living within him.

For the uninitiated, in the comics, Spider-Man comes into contact with an alien symbiote, which gives him special powers along with aggravated aggression. When Spidey finally gets rid of the symbiote, it latches on to his rival Eddie Brock, who becomes Venom. This is the reason why Venom has some of Spider-Man’s powers.
Venom incidentally, made his big-screen debut more than a decade ago in Spider-Man 3, with actor Topher Grace playing the role.
Venom is directed by Ruben Fleischer, who has also made Zombieland and Gangster Squad, and also stars Michelle Williams. The film hits theatres on 5 October.
