Even as fans await eagerly for the Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif-starrer Tiger Zinda Hai, the film has come as bad news for some. The makers of the Malayalam hit Take Off have dropped the idea of remaking the film in Hindi, thanks to the overwhelming similarities in the themes of the two films. Parvathy Menon and Kunchacko Boban helmed Take Off, which released earlier this year.
Both Tiger Zinda Hai and Take Off are set in Iraq and revolve around a mission to rescue nurses kidnapped by the terrorist group ISIS. While Take Off has the nurse Sameera (played by Parvathy) at its core, Tiger Zinda Hai of course revolves around the one-man army that’s Tiger, aka Salman Khan.

According to Indian Express, Mahesh Narayan, who directed Take Off, had been in the last stage of talks for the remake. Jet Airways was expected to bankroll the Hindi version.
Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai is set to hit theatres on 22 December.
