As Emma Watson brings to life the Disney classic Beauty And The Beast, but here’s an interesting piece of information about one of her costumes that was designed in India! Gujarati craftsmen embroidered the flowery bodice of an off-white dress Emma Watson is seen wearing in the film.

The film’s costume designer Jacqueline Durran got artisan brothers Kasam and Juma from Bhuj to painstakingly embroider the fine bodice by hand using an 18th century French floral design. The film’s assistant costume designer Sinéad O’Sullivan shared more details of the work that went behind it in her Instagram post, revealing the Aari technique used to create this particular design.
