Zee Network has bagged the satellite rights of superstar Rajinikanth's magnum opus 2.0, which is being made in three languages, the makers announced on Monday.
According to industry sources, the deal was closed at a whopping Rs 110 crore.
Being directed by S Shankar, the film is a sequel to Rajinikath's 2010 blockbuster Enthiran released as Robot in Hindi.
Only recently, director Shankar had tweeted that the film is on the verge of completion. He confirmed that the team had completed shooting a major scene and that the project is almost complete except for one song and some patch work. With this update, the team has successfully completed the Chennai schedule.
He also shared a picture of the unit with the tweet.
The film marks the Tamil debut of Akshay Kumar in the role of an antagonist. Also starring Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain, the film has music by AR Rahman.
The Rs 450-crore film will simultaneously release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi this Diwali.
