Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 2 Postponed to 2025 Amid Actors' Strike

The eighth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise has been postponed to 2025 amid the ongoing actors' strike in Hollywood.

Paramount Pictures, on 23 October, shifted the release date of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part Two, starring Tom Cruise, from 28 June to 23 May 2025.

Dead Reckoning Part One grossed a whopping $567.5 million worldwide. However, the film did not surpass its 2018 installment, Fallout, which collected $791.7 million globally. But the film opened to great reviews from both the audience and the critics.

As the actors in Hollywood continue to strike for better pay, the industry's increasingly upended release plans will have to wait. Stars are yet to promote upcoming big-screen attractions like Dune: Part Two, which has been postponed to March.

Due to the strike, a string of Marvel movies also faced a delay in their release. Venom 3 and Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse have also been delayed.

Paramount also announced that A Quiet Place: Day One, which is a prequel to the post-apocalyptic horror franchise, will have its release pushed from March to 28 June.

Meanwhile, negotiations between the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and the studios are scheduled to resume 24 October.
