Popular television host Kapil Sharma is all set to make his dubbing debut with the upcoming film The Angry Birds Movie 2. He will be voicing the character ‘Red’ in the Hindi version of the American animated film.
The Angry Birds Movie 2 is all set to release in India on 23 August. Apart from English it will also be releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The film is based on a video game of the same name.
In the English version of the film, comedian and actor Jason Sudeikis is voicing the same character. Initially, Kapil was a little unsure about whether or not he will be able to match Jason’s pitch. However, he has now found joy in the fact that the assignment provides space for improvisation.
Talking about dubbing one of the main characters of the film, Kapil Sharma said that he just like the character Red in that he too tends to get entangled in difficult situations. Moreover, Kapil added that the character Red was very much like him, “The producers expected me to scale up the humour and I have but it’s very situational. In fact, there are times when the character’s anger will make you laugh.”
Famous industry celebrities dubbing Hindi versions of American films seems to have become a trend. Recently, Shah Rukh Khan and son Aryan Khan too lent their voice for The Lion King which released on 19 July.
Kapil Sharma is the host of the popular television show The Kapil Sharma Show. Most recently he had hosted Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut on his show ahead of her upcoming release Judgementall Hai Kya.
