Christian Bale's Vice, a biographical comedy-drama on former Vice President Dick Cheney's career, has bagged a maximum of six nominations for the 76th annual Golden Globe Awards, with The Favourite, Green Book and A Star Is Born coming close on the heels with five nominations each.

Cooper, a first-time director for A Star Is Born, also picked up a Best Director nomination.

The Favourite star Olivia Colman got nominated in lead actress in a comedy/musical, joining Emily Blunt (Mary Poppins Returns), Elsie Fisher (Eighth Grade), Charlize Theron (Tully) and Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians).

In the field of lead actor in a comedy or musical along with Bale are Lin-Manuel Miranda (Mary Poppins Returns), Viggo Mortensen (Green Book), Robert Redford (The Old Man & the Gun) and John C. Reilly (Stan & Ollie).

Roma, a family drama by Alfonso Cuaron that is being released by Netflix, picked up a nod for Best Motion Picture - Foreign Language, besides nominations for its direction and screenplay.
