Marvel fans in India are in for a treat this July with Avengers: Endgame set to re-release in select theatres on 5 July. While the film originally hit theatres on 26 April, the makers of the cinematic universe have included new and unseen footage in this version.

Avengers: Endgame will include a deleted scene, a post credit tribute and a new introduction by director Anthony Russo. The decision to re-release the film has been seen by many as a move by the makers to topple Avatar to make it the number one grosser of all time.

SPOILER ALERT

The first addition to Avengers: Endgame is a tribute to the late Stan Lee, who co-created several popular superheroes such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor and the Hulk. According to reports, the Marvel legend interacts with Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) directors such as James Gunn, Taika Waititi, Kenneth Branagh and Jon Favreau, and Thor actor Chris Hemsworth. The makers have also included a special message for him.

The deleted scene is an unfinished one featuring the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) rescuing people from a burning building before he gets a call from Captain America (Chris Evans). Fans in the US - where the film was re-released in theatres on 28 June - have expressed their displeasure at this particular scene for its poor rendering and shoddy CG work, concluding that it was not enough of an incentive to make a return trip to the theatre.
