Guess who played a pivotal role in setting things right between former besties Karan Johar and Kajol? Little Yash and Roohi! Karan Johar tells Neha Dhupia the whole truth about how parenthood inspired him to patch things up with the actress, on the finale of #NoFilterNeha season 2. Not just that, KJo also spilled the beans on his sex life and what goes into throwing a signature Karan Johar party.
Karan & Kajol 2.0
Following his rather public spat with Kajol after the box office clash between Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay, Johar spoke publicly about an age-old friendship gone terribly sour, almost beyond repair. But fatherhood is changing that. So how have Yash and Roohi paved the way for a Karan-Kajol 2.0?
Giving birth to Roohi and Yash has just changed the way I think about everything, all my relationships, my life. I was just so happy that I had children. Everyday I walk into their room and I can’t believe they’re mine. Honestly, what happened was that when the babies were born, which no one knows really, I sent the message to Kajol first. I sent her a message saying that ‘you don’t have to reply to this, but I really don’t want you to be seeing these babies in the newspaper or online. You don’t need to reply but I woke up with a dream and I woke up with a heavy heart and I just had to send you the images of my children.’ She replied instantly and said ‘they look gorgeous and I hope they give you all the love that my children have given me.’

Later in August, I went to her birthday party. I do feel that I said many many things but now when I look back I’m going to say that whatever may have transpired and everything that I said about our relationship, a lot of it I think I reacted on impulse and put it out there. No when I look back I think maybe it was something I should’ve kept to myself. I think there are some relationships that are so sacred that when you hurt from them you should keep a lot of those feelings to yourself and leave it to one on one discussions. I probably made the mistake of going public, those feelings are what I did feel, but maybe it should’ve been one on one. Having said that the relationship is too strong in the past for me and her to not have a 2.0 version of it. I hope that we can reach a point where we can go back to the love and respect that we had.

Sex, Mojo & Body Issues
For all the flamboyance you see in Karan Johar movies, one would never guess that he’s insecure about the way he looks. So much so that the idea of having sex with the lights on traumatises him. Though he spoke of having lost his mojo in bed, in his autobiography An Unsuitable Boy, the filmmaker sounds on top of the world now about having found it once again.
Even when I have any intimacy in my situation, it is always lights off. I can’t have sex with lights on, I just can’t. Day sex is great, specially when it’s on holiday. Morning sex is even better, if you can bare the spending spending the night with you. Nine out of ten times I can’t, but eventually it’s all about having the lights off. The worst is, when you’re in the beat of it, in hotels you don’t know where the switches are. So by the time you’re in the throngs of ecstasy, the mojo is dead. The lights are off but the mojo is dead. Which is why I prepare myself. I switch of all the lights, I welcome the guest and then I perform. God I sound like such a concubine.

Karan Johar’s Party Vaastu
There’s a plan for everything when it comes to Karan Johar. Sonakshi Sinha calls him Bollywood’s Great Gatsby, for the lavish party he throws. Not only does he carry that badge with great pomp, KJo confesses that good parties need a square room.
I feel really nervous about throwing parties because they have to be fun. So the music has to be right the people have to mix, the age demographic has to be right, sprinkle it with the right amount of people from various walks of life.. the idea is that square rooms always lend themselves to better parties, so never divide the party...never divide the food. The moment you put food on another level the party gets divided so everything should happen in a square room. Party vaastu has to be square, put your food there, put your dance floor there, put everyone in everyone else’s face, that’s the only way parties work.
