Popular Facebook page ‘Humans of Bombay’, which features extraordinary tales of ordinary people, recently had a major guest in the form of Rajkummar Rao. Rajkummar spoke at length about his humble beginnings, initial struggle in the industry and his dream to meet SRK.

The Fanney Khan actor idolised Shah Rukh, saying “Growing up, I was fascinated with Shah Rukh Sir––I used to stare at his posters and often think that if an outsider could make it as big as him, then maybe there was hope for me.”

(Shah Rukh Khan) made me feel so special. I was already a fan, but that day I was probably his biggest. I was nervous and in awe throughout. I once spoke to his posters...and now there he was, in front of me.

Success didn’t come easy for Rajkummar, and he had to work especially hard to grab his first major role in Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhoka. After that there was no turning back.

The biggest moment for Rajkummar came when he found SRK was shooting in Mehboob studios at the same time as him. He immediately jumped at the opportunity.

Rajkummar Rao will next be seen in the horror comedy Stree opposite Shraddha Kapoor.
