You might deliver one swell performance after another, playing strong, individualistic women on screen. But speak out against misogyny, and the trolls would be after you. Malayalam star Parvathy, who won us over recently as Jaya in Qarib Qarib Singlle, found herself at the receiving end of the wrath of trolls when she commented on the misogyny in films like Mammootty's Kasaba at the 22nd International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). The actor was speaking at an Open Forum at the festival.
She also spoke about how cinema conditions people to think in a certain way.
Think she’s making a lot of sense? Well, think again. Mammootty fans took it upon themselves to defend the superstar and his films. But Parvathy is not one to be intimidated and stood by her statement in a series of tweets.
You go, girl!
