Priyanka Chopra Jonas will receive the Danny Kaye Humanitarian Award for being the voice for children in different parts of the world and creating awareness about issues faced by them.
“UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador @priyankachopra will receive the Danny Kaye Humanitarian Award at our #UNICEFSnowflake Ball this December! An incredible voice for children — including on her recent visit to Ethiopia,” UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund) announced in a post on Twitter.
Priyanka, who has been working with UNICEF since 2006, was appointed the national UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Child Rights in 2010 and Global Ambassador in 2016.
Apart from her work in India, the actor has visited refugee children in different parts of the world, including Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and most recently, Sudan.
Priyanka took to social media to thank UNICEF and said that she was “incredibly humbled” with the honour.
