Priyanka Chopra has always maintained that her father’s death was the lowest point in her life and that she misses him by her side everyday. On his sixth death anniversary on 10 June, the actor took to Instagram to share a nostalgic photograph of her and her father, Dr. Ashok Chopra, and penned down an emotional note for him.

“6 years. Seems Like just yesterday we lost you..I miss you Dad. Inexplicably”, Priyanka wrote on Instagram.

Her father passed away in 2013 after fighting a long battle with cancer, diagnosed in 2005. As a token of love and respect, PeeCee had got her wrist inked in 2012 with a tattoo that says ‘Daddy’s lil girl’ and that too, in her father’s handwriting.

Last year on his birthday, Priyanka had posted a compilation of her father’s sepia-tinted photographs on Instagram.

On the work front, the Quantico star will be next seen in Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink, in which she is starring with Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim. It is said to be based on the life of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. The movie is scheduled for an October release this year.

Recently, Chopra was trolled for donning a backless sari for the shoot of an American magazine, InStyle. Designer of the sari, Tarun Tahiliani, in an interview with Mid-day, came to Priyanka’s defence and said, “There’s nothing vulgar about it. In fact, not using a choli makes it a global statement. The transition from alluring Indian beauty to this modern goddess for a mainstream fashion cover only speaks of her [Priyanka] versatility. She is truly a modern Indian icon.”
