Actor Neha Dhupia has never been one to shy away from talking about sensitive issues and so when it came to #MeToo she was more than willing to give us her opinion of the movement that has taken India by storm.

The Quint caught up with the actor and asked her what she thinks of the #MeToo movement. Here’s what she had to say.

I mean the fact that it’s happening. I always say that it’s the best clean-up act that we will see in our business—and even out of the business—because it’s not just happening in the industry as we speak, it’s happening everywhere.

She also spoke about how the women who are coming out in the open should be treated and how it makes her furious to know how women are harassed for no reason at all.

Women are coming out, women are talking about it. It makes me angry, it makes me furious. Initially, I was reading everything that was coming out, was making me extremely angry, but what do you do? What you need to do is, not turn a blind eye, not turn a deaf ear. Listen to these women. It’s bad enough that they have been through it; it’s hard enough that they are talking about it. So, why not take them at face value and start believing them?

She says that there is a reason why men out there are coming out and apologising, they are not apologising for nothing.

Something has gone down and whatever has gone down is not good. If nothing else, let’s at least support these women.
