Over 2000 girls were auditioned before the makers of Love Sonia zeroed in on Mrunal Thakur for title role of their film. It was the mixture of vulnerability, innocence and strength that Mrunal exuded that appealed to filmmaker Tabrez Noorani when he first met Mrunal at an audition for playing the character of Sonia in Love Sonia.

Mrunal says the first time she auditioned for Love Sonia, she had a gut feeling that this was her film. Watch the process of audition and selection that Mrunal went through for Love Sonia in this video. The film releases across India on 14 September.
