19-year-old Anukreethy Vas was crowned Femina Miss India 2018 on 19 June.

Anukreethy Vas, a college student from Tamil Nadu, was crowned Femina Miss India 2018 on 19 June in a grand ceremony at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium in Mumbai. Having already been crowned Miss India Tamil Nadu 2018, Miss India Beautiful Smile 2018 and Miss India Miss Fashion Icon (South) 2018, the 19-year-old beat 30 contestants to win this coveted title.

She will now represent India at Miss World 2018.

So, what do we know about this rising model?

Raised by a single mother, Anukreethy has grown up with the idea that “nothing can dim the light that shines from within.”

I’ve seen all her [my mother’s] struggles throughout my life to give wings to my dreams and she was being blamed for all my mistakes so I want everyone to praise her for my win. My mother will surely be proud of me and my achievements.

After completing her schooling from RSK Higher Secondary School, she is currently fulfilling her mother’s dream by pursuing BA in French at Chennai’s Loyola College. Anukreethy wants to learn languages from across the world.

As for her hobbies, she is also a great dancer and a state-level athlete. She loves riding bikes, and even harbours acting aspirations!

I see myself as Miss World 2018 and a well established actress! I started modelling because I wanted a platform to share my ideas on the dais and spread a word about it. My passion and my goals will surely bring light into my career that is into making.

I love to be in front the camera and I respect the person behind the camera. If I get a chance I’d love to work with Atul Kasbekar.

Anukreethy wishes to inspire young people to pursue their dreams and find a purpose in life. Her favourite life qoute is, “The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today. So be the best version of yourself everyday.”

It’s certainly this attitude that has brought her so far. Who knows where she could go from here?
