Maneka Gandhi, the Union Women and Child Development Minister, said on Monday, 8 October that her ministry has written to the law ministry, requesting that sexual harassment complaints be allowed without any time limit.

You will always remember the person who did it, which is why we have written to the law ministry that complaints should be without any time limit.
Maneka Gandhi said, as reported by NDTV.

According to the NDTV report, she also said that “anger at sexual molestation never goes away."

“You can now complain 10-15 years later, doesn’t matter how much later. If you’re going to complain the avenue is still open,” she said.

Maneka also weighed in on Tanushree Dutta’s allegations against Nana Patekar and came forward in her support. She assured that National Commission for Women would investigate every complaint.

Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. We were the first government to start ‘SHe Box’ on social media and women who wrote to us saying they are harassed, we took action immediately.

According to NDTV, Maneka also said that while she was happy a ‘MeToo campaign’ had started, she hoped it "won't go out of control in the sense that we target people who've offended us in some way."
