Alok Nath, the ‘sanskari babuji’, has been accused of rape by director Vinta Nanda. Recently, actor Tanushree Dutta had blasted Ajay Devgn for working with Alok Nath in De De Pyaar De. Now, TV actor-turned-producer Imran Khan says that distributors are not willing to touch his film Main Bhi because it features Alok Nath. “We wrapped our film by July last year, much before the allegations against Alok Nath surfaced. Since then, I have approached so many distributors and advertising agencies, but everyone is shunning the film because Alok Nath is in it. I feel it is an injustice to a small producer.” Imran Khan told Mumbai Mirror.
Incidentally, the film deals with sexual harassment and Alok Nath plays the role of an upright judge. Imran Khan, however, says that he had registered the title before the #MeToo movement took shape, and the film deals with the sexual abuse of boys from Bhopal.
Imran Khan has worked with Alok Nath and Vinta Nanda on two serials, Tara and Hero Uncle. He asserted that none of the women complained about Alok Nath’s behaviour during the shooting of Main Bhi in Bhopal.
