Sanjay Dutt Dedicates Marathi Film 'Baba' to Father Sunil Dutt

Actor Sanjay Dutt, who is venturing into Marathi cinema as a producer with Baba, has dedicated the film to his late father and veteran actor Sunil Dutt. Sanjay on Tuesday took to social media to share a poster of his first Marathi production.

"Dedicating our first Marathi film Baba to the person who remained steadfast in my life through everything! Love you dad," Sanjay captioned the poster in which a young boy is seen sitting on the rear passenger seat of his father's bicycle, against the backdrop of a farm.

Baba features Deepak Dobriyal, Nandita Dhuri Patkar and child artiste Aaryan Menghji in the pivotal roles.

Directed by Raj R Gupta, Baba is scheduled for release on 2 August.

'Mental Hai Kya' Trailer Release Cancelled?

Previously, it had been reported that the trailer of upcoming Kangana and Rajkummar starrer was scheduled to release on 19 June. However, the release has been reportedly cancelled. Apparently, the makers of the film are waiting for a clearance certificate from the CBFC before they can release the trailer. Mental Hai Kya is slated to releaseon 26 July.

First Look: Meet Diljit & Kriti’s Wacky Avatars in ‘Arjun Patiala’

The makers of the upcoming romantic cop spoof comedy Arjun Patiala have released the first look posters of the film featuring the main cast of Kriti Sanon, Diljit Dosanjh and Varun Sharma.

Set in a small town, Arjun Patiala stars Diljit as a quirky cop, the titular Arjun Patiala. His poster finds the Udta Punjab star geared up with a mic, rose and cans of beer instead of the usual artillery. Maddox films, the producers of the comedy, shared the poster introducing Arjun with “#ArjunPatiala, muscular nahi cute. With you. For you. Always.”

Kriti Sanon's Next To Be a Thriller Helmed by Rahul Dholakia

Director of Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees has another project in the works. According to sources, it’s going to be a thriller inspired from real-life stories. It will star Kriti Sanon in the lead. It’ll be written by The Bard of Blood author Bilal Siddiqi.

Saiyami Kher to Star in Anurag Kashyap's Next

Actress Saiyami Kher has been roped in for filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's next directorial.

Last week, Kashyap announced that he was starting a new company and working on a new film.

Saiyami will be seen essaying the role of the female lead in the film alongside Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew.

"Yes I am currently shooting for the film. It has still not sunk in that I am in an Anurag Kashyap film," Saiyami said in a statement.

"It is an under-statement to say that I am extremely excited to be a part of this project. I can't really talk too much about the film right now," she added.

The film will be shot in Mumbai within three months.

Saiyami, who made her debut with "Mirzya", will also make her digital debut with the second season of "Breathe".

Vijay Verma, Sunny Kaushal Roped In for Romantic Drama 'Hurdang'

Gully Boy actor Vijay Verma has been cast in upcoming romantic drama Hurdang. The film will be directed by Nikhil Bhatt and produced by Shaailesh R Singh, who has backed titles such as Mental Hai Kya and Tanu Weds Manu. It also stars Sunny Kaushal and Nushrat Bharucha.

The story is set in Prayagraj and follows the anti-reservation protests that broke out in the city in 1990. Director Nikhil Bhatt said in a statement, “This is a story inspired by true incidents. In the year 1990, as a kid, I saw thousands of youngsters getting involved in the fight for their rights, the students fought for two whole years. They were angry for being taken for granted and for two years the students’ lives came to a standstill. They say, love stories coming out of duress stall tall. Hurdang is a love story set in these times.”
