Kedarnath director Abhishek Kapoor has urged the Uttarakhand government to lift a ban on the movie.
"I plead with the Uttarakhand government to please lift the ban on my film 'Kedarnath'. It is an attempt to bring peace, harmony and healing to the people of this country. Please don't deprive us of this opportunity," Kapoor tweeted.
While there has been no official ban on the film by the state government, it wrote to all district magistrates about the film and the controversies surrounding it. The decision followed a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat that reviewed a report submitted by a committee headed by Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj.

Actor Yami Gautam, who attended the Delhi Comic Con, says if given a chance, she would love to bring her favourite comic character Wonder Woman alive on the big screen. Yami visited the 8th edition of Maruti Suzuki Arena Delhi Comic Con on Saturday as a 'brand friend' of Swiss watch company Swatch which introduced its 'Fall-Winter' 2018 collection.
The experience was "very good", Yami told IANS over the phone. "It was quite nice to see the turnout and to see how people are evolving to this new cultural zone that countries are globally trying to connect with," she added. Asked if she was a comic enthusiast as a child, Yami said: "Not really, I was not much into comics. But of course, I did have my favourite comic characters and I still do."
Which one? "My one and only would be Wonder Woman. I love Wonder Woman," said the Vicky Donor actor.

Produced by Aditya Chopra, Mardaani 2 will see Rani Mukerji starring in the film that is slated for a 2019 release.

Salman Khan has announced that debutants Pranutan Behl and Zaheer Iqbal will be launched in the upcoming film Notebook, which will will release on 29 March, 2019.
Salman, who has previously launched fresh faces like Sooraj Pancholi, Athiya Shetty, Warina Haussain and his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma, took to Twitter to share the first look of the new actors. "The most beautiful love story has a release date... Notebook hits the cinemas on March 29, 2019. Trailer coming soon," he captioned the image. The love story is set in Kashmir.
Pranutan is late actress Nutan's granddaughter and actor Mohnish Bahl's daughter. Zaheer doesn't come from a film family, but his father and Salman have been childhood friends.
Salman Khan Films is producing the film along with Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde of Cine1 Studios. It is directed by Nitin Kakkar. Other details related to the films are still under wraps, reports IANS.

Shah Rukh Khan has posted the teaser to the third song from his upcoming film Zero. Titled ‘Husn Parcham’, it features Katrina Kaif in her avatar as the film star Babita Kumari. SRK’s Bauaa also makes an appearance.

Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP and Siddharth Roy Kapur's Roy Kapur Films have brought Golden Globes-nominated Ivanhoe Pictures on board for Priyanka Chopra-starrer The Sky is Pink. The producers of the recent blockbuster Hollywood romantic-comedy Crazy Rich Asians, are now co-producers and a co-investing partner for the Hindi language family drama.
Written and directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Shonali Bose, the film is based on the true life story of the young motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary and her parents. It marks Priyanka's comeback to Bollywood after her appearance in a leading role in Quantico. She is also a co-producer on the film. The film also stars Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim.
"We have produced a variety of content for the Indian market and it is wonderful to collaborate with such highly regarded partners as RSVP and Roy Kapur Films on this compelling film. Ronnie and Sid's understanding of Indian audiences is beyond compare and I am sure that this is the start of a long association," Ivanhoe Pictures President and CEO John Penotti said in a statement.
According to Kapur, partnering with Ivanhoe will help them leverage their strong distribution prowess in non-traditional markets for Indian films.
Saris make me look feminine, says National Award winning actress Kangana Ranaut, who has been seen wearing and experimenting with the six-yard wonder quite often.
"I discovered sari much later in my life... I grew up in hills where there is almost no tradition of wearing saris. But when I became an artiste, my love for saris started gradually. Through acting, I got an opportunity to travel to different places and see different cultures. That's how my journey with saris started.
"It (sari) makes me look more feminine. When I wear a sari, I automatically feel more free and able to express myself better... There is some magical power in saris," the "Queen" actress said during the launch of Taneira, a flagship handloom sari store by Titan, here on Monday.
While talking about the beauty of saris, Kangana also expressed concern over the condition of Indian weavers.
Rajinikanth-Akshay-starred 2.0 has emerged as the third highest grossing Hindi film of 2018 after Sanju and Padmaavat according to reports. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, in the two weeks since its release, it has earned Rs 166.75 crore, putting it ahead of Salman Khan’s Race 3.

Anushka Sharma’s spokesperson has refuted the reports claiming that the actor has been signed on to star opposite Salman Khan in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next project. Anushka’s spokesperson said the actor would love to collaborate with the director in future.
“Anushka Sharma would love to collaborate with Sanjay Leela Bhansali but as of now, there is no truth to the speculations claiming Anushka has been signed for his next. We request you to kindly refrain from reporting on the same,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
