Kriti Sanon and Kartik Aaryan starrer Luka Chuppi has done really well at the box office and the actors have been praised for their roles. However, Kriti feels that she has not received the due credit for the film. In fact, it is Kartik Aaryan who is getting a lot of attention, the actor told Mumbai Mirror. She also mentioned the disparity in salary when it comes to the hero and heroine.
“It is logical to praise the actor in films where the female lead does not have a prominent role, but when they are both carrying a film on their shoulders, the credit should be equally shared,” she said.
As for the remuneration, Kriti Sanon said it should be paid according to your role in the film and your ability to draw the audience. “ For me, money is important, but never the reason to do a film,” she said.
The actor also lauded Shah Rukh Khan for naming his leading ladies before him in the films’ credits. “ it’s best to name the cast alphabetically rather than by gender,” Kriti said.
Not just gender and pay disparity, Kriti Sanon also spoke about the #MeToo movement. “I have not faced anything that comes under #MeToo, so I would not know. However, the movement has created some sort of fear which is much needed. Now, people know they can’t cross a line, and I hope the fear stays”, she added.
