A day after he won the National Award for Best Actor for his performance in the hit thriller AndhaDhun, Ayushmann Khurrana received a surprise party on the sets of an ad he was shooting with Luka Chuppi star Kriti Sanon.

The entire team of the ad shoot had set up a special surprise along with the announcement of his National Award. In this exclusive video from the set, Ayushmann is seen greeted with tremendous applause as he enters the room. He quickly blows out the candles on a chocolate cake presented to him, cuts a slice and feeds Kriti. Kriti then returns the favour. Ayushmann looks extremely happy and flashes two thumbs up before holding his hands together and taking a bow.

Check out the video below.

Ayushmann won the Best Actor National Award for AndhaDhun tying with actor Vicky Kaushal, who won it for Uri: The Surgical Strike. Ayushmann's Badhaai Ho was selected as the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

On Saturday 10 August, Ayushmann shared an emotional poem describing his journey in the film industry. In the poem, written in Hindi, Ayushmann talks about how it rained when he came to Mumbai for the first time just like it was raining the day the awards were announced.

He then goes on to talk about how he cared about his parents who sent him off with teary eyes when he left his home to live his dreams. Remembering his friends and the journey he took in a second class sleeper coach train while coming to Mumbai, he said the memory was still fresh in his mind.

Ayushmann ends the poem with the struggles he faced during his film journey that brough him his first National Award.
