After going on an abusive tirade on Twitter on 6 April, Kapil Sharma filed a police complaint against his ex-manager and rumoured ex-girlfriend Preeti Simoes, her sister Neeti Simoes as well as journalist Vicky Lalwani on 7 April. Now, according to a report published by SpotboyE, which is helmed by Lalwani, the portal has slapped Kapil Sharma with a counter case of criminal intimidation, abuse and threat.
According to ANI, Kapil alleged that Lalwani tried to extort Rs 25 lakh from him and “started a false and malicious propaganda to defame him in digital media after he refused to pay him the amount”.
Kapil Sharma also shared a copy of his complaint on Twitter and said that his tweets were his own and he stands by them.
After writing to him on Twitter, Kapil also called Vicky Lalwani (SpotBoyE journalist) and began accusing him of writing false and negative stories about him on his website. In the telephonic conversation, which was recorded by Lalwani, Kapil hurled abuses at the journalist and threatened him.
“I have always seen your articles. I also read your article where you called me a ‘zero actor’ in my film Firangi. Why you writing negative stories about me? Is there any particular reason?” Kapil Sharma told Lalwani on the phone.
When Vickey brought up the topic of Kapil cancelling his Family Time shoots, the comedian admitted that he might be in depression. “Maybe I have some physical problem, you too know what I am going through,” said Kapil.
Kapil then went on to threaten Lalwani and his family before the phone was taken away by his friend, Gurjot.
“Apparently he was upset about some stories against him. I was only doing my work. He called me, used abusive language and also said offensive things about my daughter. He handled his success very well but couldn't handle his drop,” said Vicky Lalwani to ANI after the telephonic conversation with Kapil.
The TV comedian, whose latest show Family Time with Kapil Sharma hasn’t exactly flown off the charts, took to Twitter on 6 April afternoon to support Salman Khan, after his conviction in the Blackbuck Poaching case in a Jodhpur court. He wrote that he has seen many royal-like people brag about killing tigers, and Salman is a good man who helps a lot of people. It’s the system that is “ghatiya”.
Then Kapil went on a rampage - accompanied by a lot of abusive language - against a media house saying that the press shouldn’t only create negative and fake news. He also added that if he was the Prime Minister, he would have hung people who spread fake news.
Preeti Simoes, the creative producer of his previous shows Comedy Nights with Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show,
Omerta director, Hansal Mehta expressed his opinion on Twitter.
