Actor Kangana Ranaut's Twitter account has been suspended for violating the social media platform's rules. She faced criticism for a tweet calling for Modi to show his 'Virat roop' from the early 2000s. According to ANI, a Twitter spokesperson confirmed, "We have taken action on Tweets that were in violation of the Twitter Rules in line with our range of enforcement options."

In some her latest tweets before suspension, she had talked about alleged violence that occurred in West Bengal after the election results were declared. She also participated in the #BengalBurning trend which accused the Bengal administration of propagating violence in the state, and had tweeted that President's Rule should be implemented in Bengal.

In a tweet that's now unavailable, she wrote, "Hundreds of murders and #Bengalisburning But Modi is Fascist and Mamata is a secular leader. Enough is enough #PresidentRuleinBengal." She recently posted a video talking on the same lines claiming the 'death of democracy'.

This isn't the first time the micro-blogging website has taken action against the actor. Her account was also briefly suspended when she referred to the controversy surrounding the Amazon Prime Video series Tandav in a tweet. A lot of users found the language used in the tweet offensive and it was taken down for violating Twitter's guidelines.

Last year, Kangana's sister and manager Rangoli Chandel's account was also suspended after several users reported her tweets for 'hate comments'. Speaking to Midday, she'd said that she won't try to revive her account calling Twitter 'anti-India'. "I have no desire of empowering any such platforms with my perspective and honest opinions, so I am not reviving my account, I was my sister’s spokesperson now watch out for her direct interviews, she is a huge star she has many ways of reaching out, a biased platform can be easily avoided," she said.
