Actor Kamal Haasan’s production company Raaj Kamal Films has denied all allegations by producer Gnanavel Raja. On Thursday 26 September, Gnanavel had filed a complaint at the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) accusing Kamal of not repaying Rs 10 crore which he had allegedly borrowed at the time of the release of the 2015 film Uttama Villain.

Raaj Kamal Films released a statement in response on Twitter. “This rumour has been instigated now to deliberately tarnish the image of Mr Kamal Haasan” the statement read.

Take a look.

“Raaj Kamal Films had got into an arrangement with Tirupathi Brothers Film Media Private Limited (sic) to produce Uttama Villain on a first copy basis. Raaj Kamal completed all its obligations and handed over the first copy to Tirupathi Brothers (sic) as agreed. So there is no basis to say Gnanavel paid Kamal to get the film released. There is no privy between Gnanavel and Kamal in any manner,”
Statement

The statement also warns of legal action against anyone defaming Kamal or Raaj Kamal Films.

Uttama Villain is a comedy-drama released in 2015, written by Kamal Haasan, produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Thirupathi Brothers Film Media. The film stars Kamal, K Balachander, Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah.
