Sulli, a 25-year-old K-pop star, was found dead at her residence near Seoul, South Korea, said the police on Monday. She was discovered by her manager who found her dead at her residence. The police have told the BBC that they are still investigating the cause of her death.

Sulli’s real name is Choi Jin-ri.

Sulli entered showbiz at the tender age of 11. She played the role of Princess Seonhwa of Silla in the SBS drama Ballad of Seodong.

Sulli’s real name was Choi Jin-ri. She had more than five million followers on Instagram, was a former member of the band F(x) until she left in 2015 to focus on her acting career. The girl band became extremely popular in South Korea and was seen as a key component of the global K-pop wave.

In light of her exit from the world of K-pop, many reports had suggested that the abuse she received online had triggered the decision to quit singing and get into acting instead. Sulli had also been vocal about the abuse she received online. Sulli was good friends with K-pop star Jonghyun, who took his own life aged 27.
