After the very successful Satyameva Jayate, John Abraham is working on a slew of projects. Along with true life-based dramas Batla House and RAW, he is acting in the sports drama 1911, and Anees Bazmee’s comedy, Pagalpanti. He is also producing Officer Khan, to be diected by Renzil D’Silva.
John, who turned producer with hatke films like Vicky Donor and Madras Cafe, told Mumbai Mirror in an interview that he would keep investing in films which have something to say, and not just look at box office numbers. “I will not bow down to the diktats of commerce,” he says.
John seemed to take a dig at the Khans and Singhs of Bollywood as well, speaking out sharply against celebs trying to grab attention by “wearing funny clothes outside airports and doing funny things”, dancing at shows or weddings for money, or simply making bad films that ensure their names on highest-earners.
He also slammed the stars’ money-making ambitions.
