From Madras Café to Batla House, actor John Abraham is known for the scripts he chooses. On Thursday, at the launch of the book The God Who Loved Motorbikes, John Abraham spoke about why Kerala hasn’t been ‘Modi-fied’ yet and shared his childhood memories from the state.
While at the book launch, the moderator for the event, Namrata Zakaria, said that though she didn’t know about John’s political leanings, she asked the actor why he thinks his home state hasn’t been ‘Modi-fied’ yet and what makes Keralites different from the rest. To this, John replied, “That’s the beauty about Kerala. You can see a temple, a mosque and a church within 10 metres of each other peacefully co-existing without any problem whatsoever. There’s absolutely no issue there. With the entire world getting very polarised, Kerala is an example of a place where religions and communities can co-exist so peacefully. ”
