I Was Offered a Role in ‘Love Aaj Kal’ Sequel: Saif Ali Khan

‘Love Aaj Kal 2’ is scheduled to hit the screens next year.

Addressing the rumours going around, actor Saif Ali Khan revealed that though Imtiaz Ali did offer him a role in the sequel of Love Aaj Kal, the actor hasn’t officially taken it up.

I’d honestly want to play every role provided it’s interesting enough and if the time permitted it. Though Imtiaz was very kind to offer me a part in the sequel of <i>Love Aaj Kal</i>, I haven’t signed the film contrary to the rumours.

There were rumours that Saif, who starred in the first instalment of Love Aaj Kal, would play Kartik Aaryan’s father in the second part of the film. However, he denied the same. Although he is very excited to see Sara Ali Khan on stage as part of an Imatiz Ali directorial.

It’s a lovely movie and I’m very excited in particular that Sara is working with Imtiaz Ali. I wish both the young stars - Sara and Kartik Aaryan the best.

An acclaimed romantic-comedy film, Love Aaj Kal released in 2009 and featured Deepika Padukone and Rishi Kapoor in key roles. Love Aaj Kal 2 is scheduled to release in the theatres in 2020. Saif has several projects line up. He will be seen in Sacred Games 2, Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior, Bhooth Police, Hunter and Jawaani Jaaneman.
