Kangana Ranaut took over the reigns for her ambitious film Manikarnika to "complete" it. The actor turned director and re-shot several portions of the film. So much so, that she was given first credit for direction and Krish was given second.
Speaking to SpotBoyE, Krish broke his silence on what transpired before the film’s release.
Kangana’s sister, Rangoli Chandel took to Twitter to add her two cents. She asked Krish to “leave her alone” and also said that “everyone believes him”.
Krish said that Kangana has done 20-25 per cent of the first half and has added 4-5 shots in the climax.
Krish also called out Kangana for taking the first credit in direction.
Veteran writer Vijayendra Prasad, who has worked on the Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi had said that Kangana Ranaut, who stepped in to "complete" the film, did no less than what the movie's initial director Krish did.
Speaking to SpotBoyE, Krish also said that “she had few small concerns” when she saw the film. “This girl is overpowering, that girl is overpowering. Then she came up with yeh change karna hai, woh change karna hai. She also said that Kamal Jain (producer) hadn't liked the film,” he added.
He also spoke about Sonu Sood’s character being written off. “And then, she suddenly rose to say that Sonu's character should be killed at the interval point. This was completely against history. Sonu was playing an important antagonist, he had a beautiful arc in the story and we had shot with him beautifully for 35 days, Sadashiv (Sonu's character) would have died in the film but just little before Laxmibai's death. Sonu told me that he wasn't going ahead if I was not taking any further part,” he said.
