Secret Superstar actor Zaira Wasim who happens to be originally from Kashmir took to Twitter on Sunday 4 August to react to the recent developments in the state and offer assurance to her fellow Kashmiris. “This too shall pass! #Kashmir” she wrote in a tweet.
Take a look.
Since Saturday, tensions in Kashmir have escalated as troops were deployed and Section 144 has been imposed in Srinagar. The government has ordered all schools and colleges to shut and all tourists to leave. Internet, telephone and cable services have also been suspended. Former CMs of Jammu & Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah, are being reportedly put under house arrest.
Zaira is not the only Bollywood celebrity to comment on the situation. Actor Gauhar Khan shared Omar Abdullah’s tweet on Monday and wrote, “What the hell us happening ??? May Allah keep every one safe ! In Kashmir.”
Pakistani actor Mahira Khan took to Twitter to show solidarity towards everyone affected by the situation.
She wrote, “Have we conveniently blocked what we don’t want to address? This is beyond lines drawn on sand, it’s about innocent lives being lost! Heaven is burning and we silently weep. #Istandwithkashmir #kashmirbleeds”
Meanwhile, Anupam Kher’s tweet, where he wrote, “Kashmir Solution has begun” did not go over well with many as they called his statement incendiary and divisive.
