The news of Rishi Kapoor’s passing away on Thursday morning came as another shock to his fans as well as friends in the film industry. Several actors and filmmakers who had worked with the legendary actor expressed their grief over his death on social media.
Amitabh Bachchan, who had worked with Kapoor, in a number of films, took to Twitter to inform everyone of the same.
Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor, close friends of Rishi Kapoor, said in a statement, “The magnitude of his loss and the void he leaves behind will be felt forever. We’ve lost one of our closest friends, our very dear brother and one of the finest human beings. It was an honour to be a part of his life. Our deepest condolences to Neetu, Riddhima, Ranbir and the entire Kapoor family.”
Taapsee Pannu, in her emotional message for him, recalled, “Even in his bullying there was so much love that one couldn’t help enjoy listening to him. The most entertaining stories came from him.”
Thanking Rishi Kapoor for ‘all the joy he brought to our lives’, Aamir Khan tweeted:
Offering her condolences to Neetu Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor and the entire family, Priyanka Chopra Jonas called it a ‘privilege’ to have known the legendary actor.
Calling it ‘heartbreaking’, Akshay Kumar also expressed his sorrow.
An old friend of Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, took to Instagram to share a deeply emotional message. “Today is the saddest day for me because have lost a family member, a friend, a brother and a person who showed me to live life with a smile no matter what. I will miss you Chintu sir,” read his message.
Wishing ‘strength, peace and light’ to his family, Salman Khan too offered his condolences.
Remembering him as ‘a larger than life person, outspoken and so warm’, Madhuri Dixit, his co-star from many films, solemnly said:
