Ah. Wedding bells, the bridal glow, laughter and warmth all around. And of course, all that shopping! Bharti Singh is all set to tie the knot with her writer fiance, Haarsh Limbachiyaa and she seems to be thoroughly enjoying this bridal phase.

However, she seems to have applied her marketing mind to it as well. Bharti has apparently left no stone unturned when it comes to milking her wedding for marketing gigs; and she has done this intelligently too. With the hashtag #BhartiKiBaarat, she has been uploading short videos on her social media pages, where she tries branded jewellery and clothes and does photo shoots with high street professionals.

Of course, her being a television celeb works in the brands’ favour, and weddings are inherently expensive.

#BhartiKaPhotoshoot

The photoshoot, by Luv Israni, is supposedly for the media, so that the likes of us have enough pictures, if and when we feature her wedding in our publications.

“Pata lagna chahiye ki Bharti Singh ki shaadi ho rahi hai.”

#BhartiKiShaadiKaInvite

So she flew to Delhi to choose the wedding invites? Surely it could have been done on mail and video calls. Oh wait, but videos don’t make themselves, do they?

#BhartiKiShopping

No wedding is complete unless you shop for your honeymoon, and the parties you plan on throwing. With Lays, Aloo Bhujiya, Fanta, and Thumbs Up, it seems more like a birthday party for a 9-year-old than a wedding party. One wonders, did these brands sponsor her wedding too?

And within the caption lies the CTA: that the followers tag their friends to get a special surprise from the brand, which in this case is Big Bazaar.

#BhartiKiWeddingJewellery

Two competing brands? She must not have been paid well for these.

#BhartiKiStrategy

Well, no social media marketing strategy is complete unless it is peppered with some genuine, non-branded posts. Bharti knows that, so, here’s one:

Bhopal wale mama ko kis brand ka Coat-Pant dogi, Bharti?
