Kartik Is Brilliant: Badshah Takes Back ‘Overrated’ Comment

The rapper is making his acting debut with Khandaani Shafakhana.

After calling Luka Chuppi star Kartik Aaryan “overrated” on an episode of Karan Johar’s talk show Koffee with Karan, rapper turned actor Badshah has reversed his position, saying Kartik is a “brilliant actor” in a new interview.

Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, Badshah said he named Kartik as the most overrated actor in Bollywood simply because the Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety star was on his mind and he later wasn’t sure why he did it.

“I don’t know why I named him, maybe because we were talking about Kartik during the break. It just came out but the fact is that he is a brilliant actor with a very good script sense

Badshah added that he had spoken to Kartik about the incident, telling him that he was simply “acting.” Kartik apparently responded “Beta, ab tu dekh.”

After chart-topping numbers like “Kar Gayi Chull” and “Paagal,” Badshah is gearing up for the release of his acting debut, Khandaani Shafakhana which also stars Sonakshi Sinha and Varun Sharma. Badshah revealed to the newspaper that he had to be “coaxed” to do the film and confided in his co-stars before accepting the role.

Badshah is shared that he is excited to be a part of the song “Munna Badnaam Hua” from Salman Khan’s upcoming sequel Dabangg 3, claiming that it will be “one of the biggest songs of the year.”
