Juhi Chawla, Anupam Kher and Riteish Deshmukh have praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the country after the effective revocation of Article 370.

Praising him for his speech, Juhi wrote on Twitter, “Listening to our PM s speech ... . May his every word come true for the people of J&K . ...... salute his vision and intention...!!! @narendramodi.”

Calling Narendra Modi an “inspirational” political leader, Anupam Kher wrote, “Listening to Prime Minister @narendramodi !!! He certainly is the most inspirational political leader in the world.”

Even Riteish Deshmukh called the speech and inspiring one, and wrote, “Inspiring Speech by Our Prime Minister @narendramodi ji”

In his televised address to the nation, PM Modi said the provision (Article 370) has not given anything to the erstwhile state of J&K except separatism, corruption and family rule, and that Pakistan has used it as a tool to spread terrorism. The PM termed the Centre’s decision to revoke Article 370 “historic” and said a new era has begun in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

Earlier, many Bollywood celebrities took Twitter to express their opinion on the effective revocation of Article 370. Terming it a “historic step”, Kangana Ranaut said in a statement, “Scrapping of Article 370 was long due, and it is a historic step in the direction of a terrorism-free nation. I knew if any one could achieve this impossible feat that is Mr Modi. He is not only a visionary but he also has the required courage and strength of character to make unthinkable a reality. I congratulate entire Bharat including JnK on this historic day, we are together looking at a very bright future.”

Anupam Kher said he woke up to the best news of his life about Kashmir.
