The 72nd Cannes Film Festival saw several Bollywood celebs turn heads on the red carpet, including Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Hina Khan and Mallika Sherawat.

Donning several looks during her time at the French Riviera, Deepika made a statement in a lime green outfit with lots of ruffles on it and a pale pink turban. The dress was by Italian designer Giambattista Valli.
Aishwarya’s first appearance at Cannes 2019 was a stunning one in. She wore a metallic fish-cut dress styled by Jean-Louis Sabaji Couture with jewellery courtesy the studios of Boucheron. Her daughter Aaradhya walked the red carpet with her in a yellow frock.
Deepika is currently shooting for Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak, a film based on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Vikrant Massey plays Laxmi’s partner, social activist Alok Dixit.
Aishwarya has signed on Mani Ratnam’s next, a historical drama that’s an adaptation of Tamil novel Ponniyin Selvan (The Son of Ponni) written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The film will be based on the life of Arulmozhivarman, aka Rajaraja Chola I, and will be set during the 10th and 11th centuries. It is reportedly being planned as a multi-lingual big budget production, along the lines of Baahubali. Aishwarya will play the role of Nandini, the wife of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, who served as the chancellor and treasurer of the Chola kingdom.
