With an earning of $65 million, Akshay Kumar has beaten Hollywood biggies like Bradley Cooper, Chris Evans and Will Smith to secure fourth place in Forbes' annual list of world's highest paid actors. Actor and former WWE wrestler Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson tops the list having earned $89.4 million over the last 12 months. Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr follow with earnings of $76.4 million and 66 million, respectively. All earnings of the actors were calculated between the period of June 1, 2018, and June 1, 2019.
According to Forbes, Akshay reportedly commands between $5 million (Rs 34 crore) and $ 10 million (Rs 68 crore) per film and also has endorsement deals with about 20 brands, including Tata and Harpic. The actor is currently enjoying the success of his latest film Mission Mangal, which released on 15 August and crossed Rs 100 crores at the Indian box office in five days.
After Akshay, legendary actor Jackie Chan is placed at fifth on the Forbes list of highest paid actors 2019 at $58 million haul, followed by Cooper and Adam Sandler at sixth with $57 million each. Evans, who appeared alongside Cooper, Downey Jr and Hemsworth in Marvel blockbuster Avengers: Endgame, secured eighth place in the list. Paul Rudd and Smith were placed at the ninth and tenth positions, respectively.
