Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati has no dearth of controversies. First, it was the destruction of the sets in Rajasthan, then the physical assault on director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and then protests and bandhs in Chittorgarh and call to ban the film in pre-poll Gujarat.

And now, Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Uma Bharti, has tweeted an open letter to share her take on the Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh-Shahid Kapoor film. Needless to say, it’s all about preserving the seemingly super fragile “pride” and honour of Indian women that Padmavati is out to demolish with its “distortion of facts”.

Check out her tweets:

This is not the first time Uma Bharti has spoke about the film. The minister also thinks thatthe film and the portrayal of Rani Padmavati might violate the pride of Indian women.

Padmavati is set to release on 1 December.
