1. After Four Years, Shahid & Dad Pankaj Kapur Reunite for ‘Jersey’

After the massive success of Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor is preparing for his next film, Gowtam Tinnanauri’s Hindi remake of his Telugu sports drama Jersey. Now, according to a report by Mumbai Mirror, the film will mark a reunion for Shahid and his father Pankaj Kapur after four years. They were last seen together in Shaandaar.

A source told the publication that Pankaj Kapur will play mentor to Shahid’s character. The 65-year-old actor said that he is excited to be a part of the film. “Jersey has a very strong storyline. It has always been a great experience working with Shahid as he can portray emotions beautifully,” Pankaj Kapur said.

2. Hrithik Reacts to Shahid & Akshay Being Ahead of Him in Box Office

Akshay Kumar has dominated this year as all his films have done well at the box office. Kesari, Mission Mangal and Housefull 4 have already raked in several crores, and Good Newwz is about to release soon. While Akshay is looking to reach Rs 1,000 crore at the box office this year, his latest release Housefull 4 has created new records.

Even Hrithik had a great year. While Super 30 won him critical acclaim, War proved to be a smashing hit. However as far as numbers are concerned, the actor’s films fell short by a few crores, which resulted in Housefull 4, Uri: The Surgical Strike and Kabir Singh taking the lead to claim supremacy. However, Hrithik took a recent report like a sport and gave a witty reply. “How good would I be if I didn’t have friends who were better than me,” he tweeted in response to the news.

3. Kangana Pays Tribute to the Late Jayalalithaa on Death Anniversary

Kangana Ranaut, who is set to play the late Jayalalithaa in biopic Thalaivi, spent a few moments of silence on the sets of the film to honour the death anniversary of the former Tamil Nadu chief minister. The actor’s team shared a picture of Kangana offering flowers to a portrait of the actor-turned-politician. Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo hospital in Chennai on 22 September, 2016 and passed away on 5 December.

Deepika Padukone recently penned a column for The New York Times, where she opened up about how her life changed once she decided to open up about her battle with depression.

In the column, Deepika said that her path to recovery was paved with self reflection. “As I recovered, I started to reflect on my experience. Why did I not know anything about this illness? Why had no one — with the exception of my mother — recognized the signs? And why had I been so reluctant to voice my own feelings? Those questions led me to the decision to go public with my condition,” she wrote.

Following the recent rape and murder of a young veterinarian in Hyderabad, YouTuber Bhuvan Bam has released a video on his popular channel BB Ki Vines highlighting the need for real reform rather than just social media outrage. “You are busy organising candlelight marches.
