Celebrity kid Suhana Khan is set to make her acting debut, a friend of her father, Shah Rukh Khan told Bollywood Hungama, adding that almost every major filmmaker in Mumbai from Sanjay Leela Bhansali to Sujoy Ghosh have shown an interest in launching her.

With Suhana is known to be a frequent theatre performer, Shah Rukh has always been supportive of her acting drive, the friend said. However, he was always insistent on the fact that she complete her education first.

“Shah Rukh wanted her to go through the grind. She has been doing theatre regularly. Now, both Shah Rukh and his wife Gauri feel Suhana is ready for a film career,” he told Bollywood Hungama.

In terms of the director lucky to launch the star kid, the obvious choice would presumably be Karan Johar- known to be one of Shah Rukh’s closest aides and the person who has launched half of B-town’s younger generation.

However, according to King Khan’s friend, Karan Johar would be “too obvious a name to do the needful”, the report adds.

As far as I know, almost every major filmmaker in Mumbai from Sanjay Leela Bhansali to Sujoy Ghosh has shown an interest in launching Suhana. She is a natural-born actress. Shabana Azmi saw her in a play and immediately recognized an accomplished actress in the debutante.

While it’s yet to be seen who Suhana will finally go with, the idea of taking the centre stage, especially after her recent Vogue photoshoot, seems to be turning into a reality for the star kid.
