The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chief, Pahlaj Nihalani is up in arms against Imtiaz Ali, Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma for what he considers their vulgar exchange in Ali’s soon-to-be-released, Jab Harry Met Sejal.

In the trailer, Anushka is seen discussing the legal ramifications of possible sexual intercourse with Shah Rukh.

Shockingly, Nihalani says the dialogue about intercourse in the trailer has been ordered out by the censor board.

“We’ve granted a ‘UA’ to the trailer on condition of deletion of the dialogue about the intercourse. But they’ve not come back to us with the deletion. So in principle, the trailer has not been passed yet,” says Nihalani, adding that the uncensored trailer with the ‘intercourse’ interaction was not permissible on any medium in India.

Talking about the trailer being relayed on news channels, Nihalani said,

They’ve downloaded the uncut trailer on Youtube. We (CBFC) cannot stop content on the internet. But we can and will stop the broadcast of the uncensored footage on television. The trailer has been picked up from the internet and is being aired on various news channels. This is completely against the law and we plan to take the strictest action against the channels which have aired the censored content from Imtiaz Ali’s film.
