The Facebook live with Sidharth Malhotra was an absolute treat for his fans. The actor whose film Aiyaary is all set to hit theatres on February 16 joined the The Quint and talked about his film. He told us how inspiring it was to work with actors like Manoj Bajpayee and Naseeruddin Shah. The actor also took questions from fans and made sure he answered as many questions as he could. We learned that Sidharth learnt to swim when he his dad, in the merchant Navy made him plunge in salt water.

Aiyaary, which has a patriotic vibe is a spy thriller that was originally slated for release on January 25 to make the most of the long Republic Day weekend. But after Padmaavat got a final release date of January 25, the makers of Aiyaary moved its release to 9 February, first. The movie was due to clash with PadMan on Friday and the release was deferred to 16 February. The makers of Aiyaary finally received a green signal for release from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) this week. It will now hit the screens on February 16.

According to a statement issued on behalf of the makers, after the CBFC reviewed the film, a screening of Aiyaary was held for the Ministry of Defence last week on the censor board's instruction. The screening resulted in prescribed modifications to the film, following which Aiyaary received a U/A cerificate from CBFC on Tuesday. Director Neeraj Pandey took to Twitter to share a photograph of the censor certificate.

Revolving around a rogue officer (Sidharth Malhotra), who seems to be involved in the illegal sale of arms, and his senior officer (Manoj Bajpayee) in hot pursuit, Aiyaary unravels the tale of corruption in the Indian Army. It has a stellar supporting cast led by Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Adil Hussain and Vikram Gokhale as well. Rakul Preet Singh plays Sidharth Malhotra's love interest in the film.
